"THE DREAM OF A RIDICULOUS MAN" ART TRIBUTE TO THE 200TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF F. DOSTOYEVSKY

Group Art Exhibition

The work of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky is like a submarine that dives into the abyss of the human soul and photographs its labyrinthine landscapes to present them before our eyes as a realistic image of the enigmatic existence, which, as long as it exists, fights non-existence.

“The whole exhibition awakens our spiritual rest, is a reminder of the first literary adventures of the psychological novel, still, we would say, expresses nostalgia for the great literary genre called novel, which was mediocre in the years of the author and nowadays is bleeding..”

The vertigo caused by his pen is because he puts existence to be weighed over the ivory cliffs of zero. In other words, it does not leave us even for a while let us rest in the shadow of complacency. Soul and body have been identified with the eternal anxiety of the spirit.

For Dostoyevsky it is like the pencil slipping away his fingers, as if the notebook were sliding on his table, as if the table were slipping, as if the floor were sliding, as if the house was sliding over the fading sucker of the existential vacuum. However, he leaves in his writings a deep hope, which is nourished by the Orthodox tradition, by the thanksgiving way of life he lived from a young age in the churches and monasteries of his homeland, by the Crucified One, by the Resurrection that he feels is waiting for us at the end of humanity's destiny.

The whole exhibition awakens our spiritual rest, is a reminder of the first literary adventures of the psychological novel, still, we would say, expresses nostalgia for the great literary genre called novel, which was mediocre in the years of the author and nowadays is bleeding.

The group "OHRA", which systematically attempts a dialogue with the timeless Greek visual tradition, and with its exhibition is on the bridge that tries acrobatically to unite the past with the future. Thus, with a groundbreaking but steady voice, "OCHRA" is like calling on modern man to leave the hectic way of life for a while, to stand outside the highway, to step on grass outside the asphalt and to see life again with the sober look of the iconography, with that look that "milks the light of the universe" and rejoices.
